I don't think any video game based on football could be the sports game for people who don't like sports. Speaking as a person who doesn't like sports, football has to be the most inane thing humans have ever done. To make a decent sports game for non sports fans, you've got to start with something at least mildly interesting like basketball (NBA Jam) or tennis (Virtua Tennis), I think. Or possibly one-on-one frisbee-dodgeball.

i disagree. i love golf games of the hotshots/neo turf/pangya variety yet the actual "sport" is incredibly dull to me. it's all in the execution.

Tecmo Bowl does require a basic understanding of football plays and strategies. That's why I think exodus would still hate it. But you've got to admit it's a pretty awesomely constructed game, right? Yes, I said got. Man, what a funny looking word when you type it all alone. Got.
