It's not even a game. We're not talking electroplankton here. It's an affordable, accurate recreation of a classic synth by one of the worlds premier developers and it just so happens to be on a handheld. It's pretty impressive that, if you don't own a ds, you can have an MS-10 for $200 as opposed to $834 (most recent ebay auction). hell, you can have the full 4 ds setup for less than that price, and that's amazing. I can understand the "YAWN" as I wouldn't expect you to really have an interest in it. The "hipster game" designation is incredibly off base though.

Oh wow, Retro Game Master is Game Center CX. I was certain that game wouldn't get localized. The Japanese version is one of the best games on the DS. Do you know anything about what type of localization it's getting? I can't seem to find any information about it at all using Google.

it was only announced yesterday. I don't know what type, but I do know that 'retro game master' is the official title they're trying to push the entire series with in the u.s. - some of it just got shown in a NY film festival somewhere. Xseed did a pretty good job with Brave Story which I just played, so I'm guessing it'll be a pretty faithful localization. Xseed is mainly ex Square USA people that left after the merger with enix. It's very surprising that it's coming over, since I've heard that Namco doesn't like other people localizing their work. If Xseed is smart they'll use this as a stepping stone to bringing over the Idolmaster games. I'm not too personally interested in them but I know whoever brings them over is going to make lots of money.

Man that was an easy troll. But seriously now. It's a KORG (music hipster alert!) turned into a videogame app that you can't actually use for anything (game hipster alert!). Well I guess with a headphone adapter you can record from this but still. Be an OG and start a five piece Seen 'n Say band.

hipsters are everywere, it doesn't change the fact that korg makes quality stuff. as far as not being able to use it goes... if you hook it up to a mixer, like most other hard synths, it's just as useful as anything else... video three shows that. an electric guitar doesn't do much until you plug it into an amp. it's also quite the portable musical sketchpad. I think it sounds really cool/accurate. the music in the videos isn't much, but it's really more of a demo showing all the stuff they've implemented.
