Wanted: Opinions/reminders of good shooters on handhelds. Need stuff to play at work. Must be on GB, Swan, NGP (heh), DS or PSP. Reminder: a "shooter" is either side scrolling or vertical. Doom/Quake/etc is not a shooter, neither is Time Crisis. Also, nothing European, please.

Follow Ups:
These are probably obvious but Gradius Galaxies and the R-Type 3 port for GBA are really nice. I'm not huge on Gradius but Galaxies gets the job done. R-Type 3 I love. Other than that I really don't know of anything you wouldn't (like Cotton on the NGP). There was a score attack bullet hell type vertical shooter released for DSiWare recently but I have no idea if it is any good. (n/t) (twelvest) (23:19:29 07/14/10 EST)
If I still had my GameBoy Pocket, I'd pick up Solar Striker. For me, Cotton on the NGPC all the way. So vivid. (Could be brighter.) (n/t) (Mike Chicago) (00:56:33 07/15/10 EST)
Gradius Galaxies on GBA is very good, and I'm not really a Gradius fan. I would think the PSP is the way to go though. Unless all those Parodius, Gradius, Salamander, Hudson and Sengoku collections are stupidly expensive already. (n/t) (substance J) (04:06:59 07/15/10 EST)
Cotton is your only option on ngpc (n/t) (zeroberry) (12:28:23 07/15/10 EST)
Space Invaders Extreme and Star Soldier on PSP are pretty good. (n/t) (Paleface) (09:38:38 07/16/10 EST)
space invaders extreme II, star soldier as paleface said, not sengoku cannon no matter how much you may want to try... but really I haven't liked a handheld shooter that much. (n/t) (exodus) (03:23:34 07/17/10 EST)
The first ones that come to my mind are Steel Empire on the GBA (admittedly, I haven't played it a lot, but it does seem true to the Genesis version which is a lovely game) and Nemesis on the Gameboy. (n/t) (Sweater Fish Deluxe and Opa Opa) (17:52:22 07/17/10 EST)
