I'm not huge on Gradius but Galaxies gets the job done. R-Type 3 I love. Other than that I really don't know of anything you wouldn't (like Cotton on the NGP). There was a score attack bullet hell type vertical shooter released for DSiWare recently but I have no idea if it is any good. (n/t) from twelvest.
I heard the R-Type III port sucked!
