I would reccomend Wave Race, because its totally great, but the Cube Version is basically better. Pokemon Puzzle League is super good, but not any better than the Cube version (Panel de Pon in the Nintendo Puzzle Collection) and is inferior to the SNES version (Tetris Attack). Bangaio got ported, twice. Um...that Wetrix game actually is kind of cool, but not worth owning a door stop for. The N64 really blows.

The thing is, if you like Beetle Adventure Racing then there's at least a dozen more racers in the same vein that you should like, too. The N64 is completely unrivaled in that category of games. For me, all those racers is enough reason to own the system right there.

I really don't care all that much for those types of games, especially ones from Rare and Atari. I certainly don't need a dozen of the things. I do enjoy the Thunder games once in a while, but they are much better in the arcade and, also, they are on DC, right? I know Hydro Thunder is.

Huh I was going to say Hydro was the only Thunder game on DC, but GameFAQs also lists a "4 Wheel Thunder," also published by Midway, with one glowing user review. Hadn't heard of the game before. Ooh let's see what YouTube has on it (inside...) The hazy brown of that track isn't as interesting as most Hydro Thunder stages, but gameplay-wise it doesn't look half bad. The GameFAQs user review says it was formerly called "Xleration," but I don't see an arcade game by that name--so was this a console-only game?

This suddenly jogged my memory. Sega made this really cool monster truck rally type game called Dirt Devils, I think, right around this same time. I played it in one arcade before it disappeared. I wonder if it was officially distributed in the US. It's a damn shame all their big attraction type games of that era never got ported to Dreamcast (and damn were there a lot of them) though I do wonder if they'd be any fun without a big machine to sit in.

No shit. That was a not very fun home experience. I think Brave Firefighters would be pretty lame too. This is why I was perplexed that they released Jambo Safari for Wii a while back. It had a decent gameplay mechanism, but it was REALLY simplistic, even for an arcade game. Is also really politically incorrect, to be honest. Kicking the shit out of giraffes and such.

I'm not an F Zero fan. I'm not really a fan of any of those floaty hovercar games where smacking the wall 50 times a lap seems to be part of normal gameplay. However my favorite version of F Zero is F Zero AC. Specifically the machine at Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, which lacks the seat belt, making it extremely hard not to just be thrown from the seat since it banks pretty hard.

There is something "off" about the GC Wave Race, but I still prefer it just because the graphics are so much better. The water is clearer, the visibility is better, etc, and these things go a long way in a jet ski game, IMO.
