So on the Monkey Board people were talking about NGP demo cartridges. Tell me more about 'em!

They were prototypes with white paper labels. I used to have pictures of them but I lost a ton of files from the past 10 years on a stupid Seagate harddrive including my whole images folder that I neglected to backup.

So were they full games, cut-down versions of full games, or what?

I thought they were multi-carts for demo units. I actually have no idea what Kaze is talking about.

'Zat mean multiple full/partial games on a single cart?

I'm not sure we ever really knew.

About half of them were complete games and the rest were cut-down in some way. Only one that I know of was a multicart: King of Fighters: R-1 and Melon-chan's Growth Diary (I don't know whether they were full or cut-down versions of those two games). Check the link inside to my Neo Poke software FAQ, which deals with the demo carts in questions 43 and 44.

I clearly remember trying to buy the Rockman Demo Cart on Ebay but obviously failed. I grabbed pictures of all the ones that I ever found for sale but those pics and my archive of NGPC curiosities is mostly gone.

A couple like Samurai Shodown had a couple differences from the final versions. I think 3 or 4 of them were like that. I would love to get the Official MP3 player cart I saw at E3.

Wait, didn't we have a whole discussion about this sort of thing, and didn't you say you had never had an HD failure?

Obviously that was before this happened. Once in 15 years isn't a bad record but it just sucks because this harddrive is the drive that ended up being the archive of all the harddrives I've ever had since my 386. My stupid 80 megabyte Seagate HDD from my 386 still works though.
