I own over 600 Laserdisc releases. I know what disc rot is. Its hugely HUGLEY over rated in the LD world and CD is probably 100,000 times more reliable than LD because they are single sided. CD is one of the most durable media in history. You certainly aren't going to be able to copy it to anything (yet invented) that's more reliable because there is no such thing. Maybe a glass CD with gold reflective layer I suppose, but its the same thing in the end. if you scratch it, its fucked, but otherwise its immortal. Now, its true that The Internet, with its infinitely redundant cave of ISO images would be more reliable than YOUR specific collection (or anyones) but your discs aren't going to rot away. That's total BS.
