Posted by Paleface saves a lot of money this way too : P on November 01, 2019 at 22:39:12 EST in reply to whenever we put out a trailer for a pixel art game people are like "WHAT ARE THESE ATARI GRAPHICS LOL" every time. there's a huge contingent of people who absolutely hate pixel art, think it's very easy to do/a cop out, and just generally think it means a game is "indie crap." (n/t) from exodus.
My pixel art indie darling balloon has for the most part popped as well. I haven't quite given up looking just yet, but I am now mostly reconciled to not counting too much on new 2D games coming along that I like and can play, because there don't really seem to be any modern pixel art designers that like non migraine-inducing action games. Eh so mostly I'm just hoping for the occasional re-release of some good old one I don't have yet, or a superior re-release of one I do have. And if ever a new one comes along that rocks my socks, well, that will be a neat bonus.
