Those people, you'd think, would be really into Stuntman (GBA) because it really is pretty impressive. Sadly its not a cute 2D redux of the overdone PS2 game but instead it itself is also overdone. Fully polygonal and all that shit with sorta decent physics. Its basically a AAA PS1 game...so rough nobody can stand to look at it anymore...except I think we were already getting into that phase even when this game was new. IIRC Crazy Taxi is the closest thing to it graphics-wise. BTW I prefer this to the "real" versions. The pace of the menues and tutorials and stuff is way less frustrating. (n/t) from SignOfZeta.

nowadays you can find some of that "what could it really do" kind of stuff on youtube - one that often gets mentioned is Smashing Drive. Also there was an asterix and obelisk 3D platformer!
 
smashing drive, framerate aside, is quite impressive.
