I had a heck of an experience recently when I was walking around my neighborhood and heard a sawing sound, like sawing through wood with a hand saw, and I was like "who's sawing something" and looked around to see an old woman on her porch just grinding away at her foot with a cheese grater to get off excess skin. Lordy.
I get that folks have to do that sort of thing sometimes but imagining the mechanics of it and the idea of getting to your actual foot meat with it just really made me shudder. Plus hearing the SOUND first, so loudly.
