Baitang, SNK's fighting panda!

I'm not sure how widely known this is, but there hasn't really been anything written about it (except for a guess at it here: https://www.arcade-history.com/?n=the-king-of-fighters-2000-model-ngm-257&page=detail&id=1291 ), so I figured I'd better cover it just in case. This is about Baitang, the Chin Gentsai's "Another Striker" in The King of Fighters 2000, and where he came from.

(My mic volume was mistakenly cranked up annoying loud here. : P)

Baitang is a giant panda, and must be based on the giant panda in the thick bamboo patch on the left side of the background of Tung Fu Rue & Jin Chonrei's China stage in SNK's 1997 fighting game Real Bout Fatal Fury Special: if that bamboo patch is broken by knocking a combatant into it repeatedly, the now-infuriated panda throws a flurry of swipes with his claws before rolling away--which is how Baitang travels as a striker in KOF 2000.

If you set Baitang as player 2's striker in the training mode of KOF 2000 in PS2 NESTS Collection, a non-interactive version of that RBFFS stage appears as the training stage background.

So that RBFFS stage is where it seems that Baitang came from!
