Lots of cheap handheld Famicom clones have those, too. If I was buying a replacement screen from Shenzhen off eBay or AliExpress, that's what I would assume it was unless it specifically said IPS. Good point. I stopped paying attention to phone screens when they got so good that I didn’t have a single complaint...which was iPhone 4 probably, now a decade ago.
