But the quality of the sprites overall seems rather high, so it could just as well be the real thing. Who's to say SNK wouldn't figure out a solution for the color limitations of the NGPC. If this thing would've actually released it'd have been wild. I noticed Ryu doing a launcher attack and in one vid they demonstrated a special super attack where characters tagged out. There's a bunch of experimental stuff that likely would never make the final cut such as Zangief's fireball attack, but merging Hotaru and Gato's movesets seems like something SNK actually would've done. This seems to be captured on one of those shitty emulators that cuts part of the lower screen, making super bars invicible. Strangely enough what stands out the most to me is Gouki's sick P2 color. Giving him even more moves than in MotM seems like a bold choice, but that's part of the charm of the first game anyway. I guess one way to assess the ligitamcy of this prototype is to check if Terry in the vids matches with the MotM2 Terry sprite posted by Falcoon on Twitter some years ago. (n/t) from Rockman Pocket.

As I recall, NGPC sprites were four-colors, but one of those was used for transparency, so it was really three in most cases. It seems like all the new sprites in this video are four actual colors plus transparency. They could just layer sprites to get extra colors, which is a pretty simple trick some other NGPC games used (and could easily be the case for K's glove), but then I wonder why the rest of the characters don't have more than four colors. Maybe they did figure out some trick.
