| | Checking out Crypt of the NecroDancer (PC / Steam) with the Amplified and Synchrony DLC. I've turned VFX flashing/shaking off, and use the "No Beat Mode" Extra Mode. Bounced off this on PS+ for PS4 back in the day and I think I'm bouncing off this on-sale, DLC'd-up Steam version as well; you can turn off all the eyeball-killing flashing/shaking VFX, and the move-to-the-beat rule, but the little movement puzzles to figure out for each enemy are unrelenting and get old fast--and that's about all there is, even with hordes of options to tweak. Maybe too many options. Like, there are three different ways to zoom the screen--and I think you can combine them all. : P I've since bought Danny Baranowsky's Crypt of the NecroDancer soundtracks off of Steam (on sale in the Summer Sale) https://store.steampowered.com/app/314680/Crypt_of_the_Necrodancer_Original_Danny_Baranowsky_Soundtrack/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/584380/Crypt_of_the_NecroDancer_AMPLIFIED_OST__Danny_Baranowsky/ so next time I'll just be running the non-vocal ones in shuffle in Winamp while playing Angband (see entry 1412). ^ _^ So I do have this game to thank for getting me back into Angband, in that way. = D Wish I could carry its gorgeous Ted Martens (doesn't seem to have done art for a game since this and the Zelda crossover version for Nintendo) pixel art over too but ah well. |
