Fer mowin' down yer enemies in droves there's nothin' like the torrent of red hot death spewed by a good gatling gun. But this power comes with a price: immobility.

Oooh look at all the barrels. You can't move while firin' a gatling gun 'cause it's so heavy it's mounted on a tripod. So basically yer a sittin' duck. Sure you can turn around and look up and down, but you can't dodge. So if yer usin' a gattler yer askin' ta die.

Sure they're fun ta use
occasionally, and useful in certain situations such as defendin' yer base in a Capture the Flag match or ambushin' suckers. And each round seem ta have at least the range and hittin' power of a rifle cartridge. But use a gatling gun too often against anyone good and you'll get slaughtered like the pig you are.

Be sure to taunt him after you kill him.

Nothin' galvanizes me into action as much as when I hear the rattlin' of a gatlin'. 'Cause I just know some sucker is makin' an easy target of himself and he's also makin' enough of a racket for me ta find him easily.

I love to use a knife
in these situations but really any weapon will do. Just dodge around a lot and shoot. You may get winged a bit but chances are you'll get him before he gets you because he can't dodge. Then be sure to taunt him after you kill him.

I dunno if there's any "best" character to use with a gatling gun. I do know that Two Feathers sucks with it like he does with any gun. I suspect that James Anderson may have the greatest gatling gun skill because of his marksmanship.

Check the gatling gun weapon variables from the Outlaws olweap.lab data file.
